A I . Johnston had a nice 3lb fish as well as A.Shores ,   .The catch /release for £ 5.00 is proving to be very popular with a lot of fishermen taking advantage of this great deal. On the bait lake fishing has been good with plenty of fish falling to the worm and fish in the 2-3lb being caught. Fly Box for the Past WeeK       FLIES of the week where Dawsons olive  Black Fritz cats whisker and black buzzers            Last Ticket Sales are 6.00 PM and as always both lakes are stocked daily         Special offer arrive before 6 PM, and do an evening session on the fly lake of three hours for only £5.00 Catch & Release only,  early and late sessions by pre booking only  phone 01670 788 366 or have a look at our website  www.southlindenfishery.org           Caroline Hill from Morpeth recently returned to the fishing of her childhood.  She fished as a youngster with her grandfather.  Caroline has recently used South Linden as the venue of her return and has made some new fishing friends as well.       This picture is of her and the first Rainbow trout since her childhood. Fishing can be a very relaxing sport, and the Surroundings at South Linden Jut add to that relaxation.....           Fishing is a good day out for families to enjoy time together, and the fresh air.... give it a try                                        These photos are of the new fish pen recently being built at South Linden.  The Fish pen will make the fish more accessible to staff, and will allow us to keep the fish safe, and allow easier restocking of the lakes...   This is us reinvesting in the fishery........      The New Fish Pen heading for the Dam wall at the fishery..on the back of a lorry.   The New pen afloat in the fly  lake..The pen is now installed into its place on the fly lake, and will be a great addition to fishery. We will be able to again stock on a daily basis, and to keep some of the larger fish The new pen will allow us to keep a better stock of fresh fish at the fishery. These improvements are our way of providing a better service to you our customers.... Andrew would like to thank those who helped on the pen, the design team, and especially those who did the work... thanks again We have also recently added a new fishing peg on the bait lake.  The new peg is on the south side of the bait lake, allowing tow fishermen to fish from this spot. If you arrive before 6 pm, you can do a evening session of Catch and Release for only £5.00 for Three hours.... The Fishery opens at 0830 and Closes at 6:00 pm  daily.  Early morning and evening sessions by prior arrangement only...Phone the fishery at 01670 788366 or let staff know at the fishery Note: Early morning sessions are possible if you book in the night before and let andrew know that you are coming. Could fishermen please practice rotation of Pegs every  hour or so and give others a chance to fish the hot spots as well.  thanks the management  YOUR ROD LICENCE The Fishery was visited recently by the Environmental Agency Bailifs.... Fortunately all had their licences..... if you haven't already done so. All anglers aged 12 years and upwards need an Environment Agency fishing rod license. To purchase a license visit http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/recreation/fishing/31497.aspx IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A ROD LICENCE, DO NOT EVEN ASK TO FISH AT SOUTH LINDEN FISHERY...... The new shelter near the entrance of the fishery.  It now is the home for the Catch and release book, and any notices regarding the fishery.  We have also put in a scale so that you can weigh the fish kept.   It is important to log in at the new hut, before paying in the office for your fishing sessions.  It is also very important for stock control to show your fish Kept and Returns. This information is needed and is vital to keep a correct count of fish so we replace and restock fish taken out of the lakes. With the new casting pond, he will be better equipted to teach and instruct the fly fisherman & women to cast over water, prior to actually going the the lake or river for fishing. We will be checking bags when you leave the fishery.  (our regular and good  customers say   "We have nothing to hide, so we do not mind you checking our bags.")          We have put up a Fishery Event Calendar this will be used for bookings, and notifying our regulars as to what special events are happening at the fishery. this can be accessed by clicking on the fishery event Calendar page up in the heading of this page... thanks                      South Linden Worms             For the Bait fisherman, we are now supplying our own worms. They are packed 20 in a Tub and are only £1.60 per Tub.  Ask a member of staff at the fishery for your worms.   Note  We supply 20 worms per tub at only £1.60 Again for the fly fishermen, we have a good stock of Flies Wet and Dry & Lures available at 40 pence each...
