Big Fish week 11-18 June with tagged fish in both lakes

  Always big fish at South Linden
J Dixon from Newcastle had a good session this past week, he caught a number of fish, but one was 12 pounds plus, and another was 4 pounds plus. Good work John....one was caught on  a Viva, and the other on a Cormorant .
 
J Dixon had another double figure fish today 7/June out of the fly lake it was released to be caught again... This is a preview of the Big fish Week, 11 to 18 June for the fly lake.

Please move platforms often to let all have a go on hot spots .
*You will be allowed to use floating and intermediate lines only.
*You will not be allowed to keep any fish over 4 pounds in weight
*You will be allowed to have two flies on your line
*You will not be allowed to use Boobies, or Blobs
*You will only use barbless hooks with the largest being size 10 
*Maximum catch and release Each 4 hours session will be 10
*Maximum catch and release each 2 hour session witll be 5
*Normal Prices will apply, and each angler can try for the tagged fish for the extra cost of £1
Day One of Big fish week
Many of the big fish on day 1 were elusive, and lying deep.

The Tagged fish is still to be caught. 
Phone the fishery to book your place either a morning session 0830 to 1230
An afternoon session 1230 - 4:30 
or an evening session 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The Bait lake are the same as above except there is no evening session.

Day 2 of Big Fish Week Sunday

It was a bright Sunny day today, there were just a handful of people fishing, Still another five days of Big fish WEEK 2011 with many Big Fish still to be caught, as well as the tagged fish in both lakes.

Day 4 Big Fish Week Mon

It was caught on a Diawl Back on the point, and a Black Montana on dropper. Intermediate line. Trout was returned safely.  L Baker from Ashington also caught another fish during this session.
The water quality has been good this past week

  Day 5 of Big Fish Week Tues 
Geordie Maddison caught two nice Rainbow trout today, one was around the 4 pound Mark, and the other one was estimated @ 12 pounds.  We were unable to get a photo of these fish. 
 
The Bait lake is still fishing well, with the bigger fish being hard to catch.  The tagged fish in both lakes are still to be caught.  
Day 6 of Big Fish Week Thursday
We do not have any reports of Big Fish Being Caught Today, But Mr. Thompson , and Mr. Astle of Seaton Sluice both caught and Kept fish today in the 3 1/2 to 4 pound Range. Well Done lads. 
There have not been any tagged fish reported  as being caught in either lake... 
 
Still two days of  Big Fish Week to come, but of course the big fish will remain for weeks to come....

Day 7 of Big Fish Week

Today it was Ashington Angler Ken Savage`s  Turn to catch one of the Big Trout.... It was a beautiful specimin Blue Trout, and it was estimated at 10 - 12 pounds. 
The Large trout was witnessed by a number of fishermen, and a photo will follow.....
Well Done Ken!
 
Also today, J Dixon of Newcastle caught a number of fish which included the below estimated 9-10 pound Rainbow... John has had an exciting two weeks with many big fish being brought to the net.

The tagged trout in both lakes have eluded all fishermen, only one more day of big Fish week...
The Tagged fish and the Big Trout if not caught soon,  will remain in the lakes for many weeks of fishing pleasure...

South Linden fishing report week ending 13 June

The fly lake

In the pre build up to our Big Fish Week at South Linden John Dixon of Newcastle caught and released two double figure Rainbow Trout one at 12 pounds and the other at 14 pounds. Both were caught on Cormorant fly

On open day of the big fish week the Large trout were being elusive and lying deep.  Local fisherman Robert Armstrong caught and returned a nice 12 pound Rainbow .

G Beagarie of North Shields caught 10 trout and returned 8 mainly on a Zebra fly During an evening session at South Linden.

J Dixon of Newcastle caught a nice 7 pound Rainbow on Cormorant

The tagged fish in the fly lake is still to be caught.

The Bait Lake

The Bait lake continues to fish well this past week, on Worm and Maggots with many fishermen  catching their full bags of blues and Rainbow Trout.

E. Mcalister a local fisherman caught a nice 4 ½ pound Rainbow in the bait lake
