It was an awsome day for the Fly lake Yesterday, 75 Rainbows and blues were caught, and most released today... The water is extremely clear and fishing conditions were obviously excellent... Today, 8 March, again many fish were caught.
This nice rainbow, was caught by Mr. John Stafford of Bedlington.... and it was caught using a Black Montana
Fish estimated around 14-15lbs. It was safely photographed and released to be caught again another day.....
The weather report for tomorrow,looks sunny if there is any ice on the lakes, they should be cleared by mid morning.
I can only suggest that you phone the fishery mobiles mid morning to check for sure...
Will try to update the website early tomorrow morning regarding current conditions...... Weather wise it looks like a good day for fishing...

These fish have been added in addition to the already overwintered fish in the lakes fish added were Rainbows, Blue Trout, and Brown Trout up to 16 pounds in weight...
The below photos were the busy fly lake this past week, as you can see just a few days after the floods and dirty water, the lakes are clear and fishing well
G Black from Whickham with his 5 nice fish caught in the Bait lake. He also went to the fly lake, and caught and returned a nice Rainbow from the fly lake. these fish were caught in a very short time using worms and a bobble float with about a 4 foot trace........ This was G. Black`s first time to South Linden, and he promises to return again soon.
Ken Watson from Whitley Bay Braved the cold on 18 February and caught Three nice Rainbows releasing this nice 4 1/2 - 5 pound Rainbow to be caught another day.
Nice Work Ken...... bye the way, the lake was frozen over on the bottom half today, so if it feels like there might be ice, check with the fishery before coming to fish.... thanks the management
