We are hoping the weather will warm up, and they will again be ice free.  It is best to keep in touch with Andrew at the fishery for current updates.   if you are planning on comming to fish, please check the weather conditions before you travel.  Check that the lakes are not frozen over and that they are fishable... Dress warm, and bring a flask of tea or a warm drink with you... Hope you have a good session....make sure that you bring the right amount of money to use the honesty ticket system.  Please also if bait fishing get your bait prior to comming to the fishery.  we do have some worms, but we can not guarantee that a member of staff will be present to make these available.. Cheers Dennis    There is still a chance that both lakes may be iced over with the heavy frosts.  it might be a good idea to phone the fishery, and check water conditions.       Fishery Hours Now 0900 to 1700 hours Gates lockedat 5:15pm we will still allow a two hour session for £6.00 at the end of the day, or actually anytime during the day on the fly lake The bait lake will be from 0900 to 1700 hours as well. Staff will be on hand from time to time, but can not guarantee this. Just fill in the envelope, put the right amount of money to pay for your fishing, and put the envelope into the letter box on the gate end of the caravan. Your copy of the ticket will be your receipt, and we will update your loyalty card when you see a member of staff.      Paul Talbot of Cramlington braved the colder weather on New Years Eve and caught this nice 6 pound Rainbow Trout At South Linden caught on white fritz with a brass head Nice Fish Paul    This nice estimated 8 - 9 pound Rainbow was recently caught by John Allan from Ashington among others caught. fly used A humungaous not sure of the spelling This fish was caught on 13/1/2012    This nice Trout was caught 14 January by George Maddison from Bedlington on a Humungaous (not sure about spelling) George also caught another 8 fish in his 4 hours session using Black and Green Fritz, and Yellow Dancer flies.     D. Braham of Amble caught and released 4 weighing in at 12, 9, and two 4 pounders in a two hour session using Ace of Spades.  R. Newton of Winalton caught and released 8 mainly on Zonker  Fly Box  yellow Dancer  Black Buzzers  Blood worm  Dawson Olives  cats whiskers  Zonker  Ace of Spades  The fly lake has remained clear of ice this week  The Bait lake is also well stocked, with fish up to and including 6 pound Rainbows and blues for our customers enjoyment. The Above New Day ticket has been Working well at the fishery.  We ask  fishermen to come prepared to pay the exact amount of their fishing day ticket. Please fill out the above form, and place the envelope with your money in the Safe letter box at the end of the caravan. Be prepared to have the right amount of cash  If a member of staff is present, we will still sell you a ticket, but we can not always be there We also ask that you fill in the fishing form in the hut and do your catch and returns when leaving at the end of your session. Thank you for your cooperation. We will also have a small stock of worms available in the hut and we ask that if you need worms, to put your1.80 per box in your envelope as well when you purchase your ticket.  We have a old Ice Chest in the small hut for worms we will try to keep a few boxes there.  Bait fishing or Fly Fishing 0900 to 4:00 pm FISHERY GATE WILL BE LOCKED AT 4:15PM   If you wish to start fishing earlier, please phone Andrew the night before and ask him to open the gate earlier for your session..... They are packed 20 in a Tub and are only 1.80 per Tub. Ask a member of staff at the fishery for your worms. If there is no member of staff available, you will find a number of boxes of worms in the chest in the small hut.
