5 pound brown Trout caught and released  Oct Big Fish Weekend 9 pound Rainbow caught by Dave Reid from Whitley Bay

    A couple more of Dave Reids fish  the Blue was kept and the rainbow released back into the lake

  Geo Maddison caught and released many fish some double figures during the Event  Father and Son Glenn Dawson fishing in the bait lake on the big fish event.... Weekend  the weekend has been and gone.  

 lakes....  Fish up to and including 14 pounds have been put into the fly lake,

  all of the big fish were returned to the fly lake to be caught again, so come along to the fishery, pay 2008 prices, and catch yourself a double figure Trout....

 (we do ask that fishermen return any fish over 5 pounds if you are paying to keep fish)

  Nice trout This nice blue trout was caught in the bait lake this past week.....There are still a number of larger trout in the Bait Lake to be taken......

  Fellow fishermen Adam and Daniel caught a couple nice fish in the bait lake.....

   We had the added treat to the good weather at the fishery today, and a fly bye of a Hot air Balloon.... A pretty sight..   Many of todays fishermen on the Fly lake where many double figure fish up to 16 pounds were caught and released...

Bait Lake on Sunday 15 March
   
The above lads caught a number of nice fish in the bait lake today. Sunday 15 March 2009 The bait used was worms and maggots.

Glen Martin From Blyth. had a great day it was his first Free loyalty card day. I had a 4lb with my first cast on a damsel nymph, and thought great it's going to be easy today, But no. For the next 2 1/2 hrs, I did not have a bite, then I swapped to a black and green Minkie, the bites came straight away,missed 2 then landed a 2lb rainbow, On the first cast in
after returning it,I hooked the 9lb trout that are in the pic's attached .
My Brother was on hand to take the photos and check the weight.After this one was returned,I had the smallest fish of the day,no more than 1/2 a pound. I'd like to thank you for a great day,see you soon I hope.

Please find attached a photograph taken today at South Linden, of my first trout caught on fly.  It took a Dawsons Olive and weighed in at around 7 lbs.   Hurrah !!!!!

  This fine Rainbow was caught on 25 March in the bait lake on worms it was 7 pounds 14 oz in weight.  The fish was one of 4 caught by Chris B from up near Rothbury.....

This fish was caught I believe on Saturday of Spring Big Fish ...In the fly lake .  I do not have size , but it was caught by Davie Nunn,

 This fish was caught by Gary Brooks from Camlington it was a lovely Blue, we do not know the weight, but it took some landing......

 Stephen Comber and son Alfie fished together recently, Stephen said that Alfie actually caught and released more fish then he did today..Alfie is holding two nice fish that he caught and kept.   Alfie is a member of the Hirst Park Trout Ticklers, and is looking forward to returning to South Linden on 2 May when they return to our fishery for the day.

  This 10 and a half pounder was caught as part of the Big Fish Event or Just after by Glen Martin From Blyth Another nice Fish for you Glen.

26/4/09 Ashley Todd from Ashington tried out Fly Fishing today at South Linden Fishery.  With some fly Fishing Instruction by Our Resident Fly Fishing Instructor Kevin Dawson, and by fellow fisherman John Thompson Ashley landed her first ever Trout a 3 pound rainbow caught on a Orange Nomad...  What Beginners luck??!

  These Two large fish were caught on fly on Saturday 25/4/09.  We did not get a chance to weigh them, but they were two nice fish one large Rainbow, and a nice size Blue Trout....We do ask that fishermen return the larger fish back into the lakes, but fishermen wanting to keep fish are allowed to keep the first two caught what ever size.

  Mick Shorey fished an early morning session at South Linden from 5 am to 8:30 am on 2-5-09 because of the Trout Ticklers Booking... He caught these two fish on a Cats Whisker and Yellow Zuddler. 
Note: Early morning sessions are possible if you book in the night before and let andrew know that you are coming. This gives Andrew a chance to adjust Security if he knows you are coming.... thanks mgmt

  This nice 6 pound 7 oz Blue trout was landed today 5 May 2009 by angler David York after a 20 min battle.  David usually returns his fish, but this one was bleeding and damaged after the battle, and he decided to keep it... nice fish David... 


 Lewis Lee Robertson age 5 from Ashington Fished and caught fish 2 /5 /09  with the Hirst Park Trout Ticklers.... Well Done Lewis!

Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon fishing. Matthew Temple, age six, introduced to his first fishing trip by his grandfather, Mr John Lawley on 28th May. Enjoyed very much by both.
